A mandatory gateway assessment for professionals seeking CCMA certification through the Recognition of Prior Learning  pathway. Its primary purpose is to pre-screen applicants and confirm that they already hold the minimum technical competence expected of a CCMA-level practitioner before they proceed to submit an RPL application and supporting evidence.

Only candidates who achieve 65% or higher on this test are eligible to proceed to the RPL application submission stage.

Who is allowed to complete the pre-assessment.

Anyone can take this test to assess their knowledge of carbon markets knowledge and practices. However, only those who attain the pass mark and satisfy the RPL eligibility criteria can apply for the CCMA certification.

Is this test open-book?

No, this is a closed-book test. 

Can I take a break and continue the test later?

Candidates are encourages to choose a quiet environment for 3 uninterrupted hours. Close all unnecessary tabs and apps, and ensure your device will not auto-update or restart.

Will I get the correct answers after the test?

Typically, you receive performance feedback and domain breakdown rather than full answer.

Can I retake immediately?

Not recommended—and the policy restricts retakes: max two attempts per week and three within two months, with only three total attempts.

How is integrity protected?

Through randomization, analytics, and—where necessary—enhanced remote proctoring controls.

Do I receive a certificate after passing?

Anyone who attains a passing score will receive a CCMA Pre-Assessment Badge (Digital only).
